We donate to the youthinbc chat line and phone
line, marketing them in
conjunction with DYSL. Our posters and pens advertise our mutual
affiliation.
For example:
- Gifts of appreciation to local youth who have shown community
spirit
towards DYSL and it's mandate. They may have assisted in
the Discoveries Thrift Store, volunteered their time in creating
and designing our logo,
or simply offering their time and energy.
- 22 Spirit Award Bursaries
Other ways in which we have served the community are by:
- Donated items from the Discoveries Thrift Store for a local
high
school play
- Provided a handicap ramp to an otherwise inaccessible strip
mall where
the Discoveries Thrift Store is located
- Donated clothing and books to other non-profit organizations
- Assisted a local family in crisis by providing an open door
to our
Discoveries Thrift Store
- Advertising local events on our Discoveries Thrift Store
